The story line of this book was good and the character development was fantastic. I really felt like I knew Scott and Kip. However, the description of the gay sex was a little overboard and a little more than I wanted to be listening to. I have no issues with gay relationships. But I just found it a little too graphic.

I did like that the author took a man, Scott in a profession that would really frown upon being gay and would make it very difficult. It would be difficult for him to come out. It really opened myeyes and heart to Scott of how he felt on how he had to hide a huge part of who he truly was. I'm sure there are many people in the worlf like him today. So that part of the book I did like.

This book had me hating Natalie and her coldness to her family and to those around her at times. Even questioning whether she was on the spectrum - the way she would process things in her head. But then at times, I understood her and even felt bad for her. Let me explain.

It started with her being groomed as this "TRAD" wife per say, with a politial family for in-laws and a very controlling father-in-law. And a mother-in-law that pretty much medicated herself just to get through life herself. She quickly figured out, she married a very clueless husband with no motivation, that has been spoon fed his entire life. So, in a way, she had to be the man in this family. She had to wear the pants. Caleb wasn't going to. He was too sweet and had no clue. However, she was missing the nurturing part of being a wife and a mother. This marriage was doomed to begin with. She had no respect for him. And he needed a sweet wife that was loving and caring, like him. That was soooo not Natalie. So the social media life and being on camera fed right into her ego and narcissism. I'm still trying to figure out if some things were more in her head than really true. lol!!

As Yesteryear concluded, I still couldn't hate Natalie. I understood some of her frustrations of being in a world where, women tend to look cold when they have to lead. However, where is the line when nurturing is involved with your own family?

I love hearing other people's thoughts on this book. There are so many takes on it. I"ve heard Yesteryear is going to be a future movie!! That will be interesting. I will love to see how the strong plot and characterization is pulled off. What are your thoughts?
