October Book Talk!!

With the leaves starting to change and the days starting to get shorter, curling up with a good book and a cup of apple cider sounds wonderful!! I'm looking forward to more of these nights after a crazy September.
My 2027 Reading Journal will be coming out this month and I'm also working on my first children's book series. I'm hoping to have my first books out before the end of the year, starring Molly Mae. The books will have a theme of teaching children a lesson around a biblical message as well. So far, I've schetched out a series of 5 books with themes around what I see children today needing to hear. So KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN for the up coming exciting launches. Its going to be an exciting end of the year.
Now onto what I've read this month.....
Wild Dark Shore

By: Charlotte McConahy
Fiction. 302 pages

This book was a slow start for me. I think because I wasn't aware of what seed banks were. So the setting took time to get used to. But once I started to get to know the characters and got going with the text, I began to love the book.
It was about a father who lost his wife and live on an island in a lighthouse with this 3 kids (3 older teens and a young boy). They helped take care of a seed bank. This was fully functioning island carring for these seeds. However, it was in the process of be being evacuated because of the island becoming unsafe. The family was left there with a few others to finish packing up the seeds. They were all grieving in their own way from loosing their mother/wife, but not communicating it. This little family was struggling and held many secrets from each other and others on the island.
When one day, after a storm, a woman washed up on shore. She was alive. She came to this island in search of something but was hiding what she was searching for. She also brought many secrets connected to this island.
As the island began to flood, so did all their secrets & lies. The end is a whirlwind on how everything comes to a head. I couldn't stop turning the next page, nor could I put the book down.
I loved how each character had their own point of view and voice throughout the book. And it made me want to research seed banks. Loved it.
